On Tuesday, September 12th, Apple broadcasted their annual product release from their brand-new Steve Jobs Theater. This year anticipation was even higher than usual as 2017 marks the 10th anniversary of the first iPhone launch.
The world waited anxiously, anticipating the arrival of a very special iPhone since it was the 10th anniversary. Apple opened the show by introducing an iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, which featured slight design changes and upgraded performance elements.
Before ending the media release, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook adds, “one more thing…”
Confirming speculations all around the world, Cook unveils the iPhone X also known as the iPhone 10. That moment truly wowed the world. The iPhone X’s design and new features far surpass any other smartphone on the market today. With new iOS 11 software, a 5.8” bezel free screen, portrait lighting, and world class dual cameras, wireless charging capabilities, the list goes on. And who can forget FaceID. Thousands of special sensors map your face with 30,000 tiny dots making it almost impossible to forge your identity. Talk about security!
It’s an industry first and it comes as no surprise. Apple has led the way in innovative as one of the World’s largest and most successful information technology companies. Cook boldly declares that the iPhone X will define the next decade of smartphones. Apple’s iPhone has seen tremendous success from its initial launch on January 9, 2007.
It’s triumph can be traced to a quote that Cook reused from Wayne Gretsky, “I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it’s at,” to illustrate Apple’s approach to design.
At EPE, we’ve followed this approach with our designs while also being conscience about the environment. We are the first packaging company to develop a closed loop system, where we use 100% recycled materials that can be reused over and over again. This is thoughtful design that looks towards the future. We created something that is sustainable for Mother Earth, cuts costs throughout supply chain, and leads a new generation to be more considerate of our environment.
